A Snippet of Russia

Seeing the Olympics on TV brings back memories of our two years in Mother Russia. So the below are some photos from our grand two year adventure where we saw a bit of the Russian side of life, from the Moscow we know.

For those who are unaware of the gargantuan space in the world that is the Russian Federation, here are some quick facts:

  • It’s area encompasses 6,592,800 sq mi and stretches across 7 time zones. 7 time zones.
  • A plane ride from Moscow to the Vladivostok in the far East has an average duration of 8 straight hours.
  • Because of it’s vast size and area, almost all climates can be found in Russia. Except tropical.

What better to personify Russia than a room of giant matrioshkas?
